Guha has forgotten one important and fundamental aspect of hinduism.  There is no FRIDAY AND 

SUNDAY compulsion in hinduism.  You go to temple or don't go to temple.  Nobody bothers.

You attend to rituals or forget rituals. Nobody questions you.  You peform Sandhya vandhana,

tharpana etc or don't perform anything.  Neither Manu nor hinduism questions you.  Such is the freedom in hinduism.  If Guha's or my boy or girl marries a nari kuruva or a tribal or an american or a british or a irula or paduga, Manu will never question anybody.I am amazed, the ilks of Guha always paint hinduism with prejudiced, biased and jaundiced brush.  What is the reason?

If somebody ill-treats a poor dalit or a poor narikuruva, how manu or hinduism is responsible?  Will Guha explain? 

Guha never touches the following subjects.  There is a book AMERICAN HOLOCAUST by D.E. Stannard.

The book explains in graphic detail, how the loving white christians massacred 100 million natives and destroyed their culture.In fact, America is built on the dead bodies of the poor natives.  Christians in Germany massacred 4 million jews.  Nobody says Germans are murderers.  Australian christians exterminated the aborginals.  Nobody says Australians are thugs and murderers.  Americans killed maximum number of human beings in Viet Nam,Iran,Iraq,Afganisthan,Pakistan etc.  Americans are never called butchers.  Americans,Germans,

Australians, Europeans etc, never blame christianity for the atrocities committed by them.   They are not bothered about anything.They are interested in their welfare only.  And see, our idiot MPs, begging Obama not to issue visa to Modi, without knowing the fact that Americans have killed more than 10 million muslims and Americans are the maximum violaters of human rights.  Why the ilks of Guha always degrade hindus and hinduism?

I am also, appending below the observation of another Indian intellect:

This is an extensively researched area in social sciences and there is little doubt that vast numbers of people in conquered and colonised countries have had their indigenous languages and cultures wiped out completely by the invading occupiers.

The classic examples were in North America, South America, the Caribbean, huge swathes of Africa, and Australia. The culprits were the British and the French in the US and Canada, the Spaniards and the Portuguese in South America, the British (primarily) in the Caribbean, a number of European colonising powers in Africa and the British again in Australia. 

Before the European onslaughts that started approximately from the 17th century, there was, of course, the cultural genocide that Islam wreaked on the countries it conquered in West Asia, and North Africa. In Persia, the glorious pre-Islamic Persian culture was effectively despatched into oblivion within a few decades of that country’s Islamisation. The same was the fate of Tunisia’s Carthaginian roots and the age-old Egyptian civilisation that dated back to the days of the Pharaohs.

The only part of the world where Islam did not succeed in decimating the indigenous roots of an ancient country was India, despite the fact that it ruled large parts of the country for nearly eight centuries. India’s Vedic civilisation and culture, much of it rooted in Sanskrit, Pali and other indigenous languages, survived. This, clearly, is a source of great chagrin for the current global leaders of the Islamist jihadi movement, and to some members of our country’s present ruling dispensation.

Hope Guha and the great paper, THE HINDU will stop biased criticism of hindus and hinduism, for the sake of pseudo secularism.
